I have been painting for as long as I can remember. I come from a long line of creative and artistic family members and ancestors. I was not a stranger to the arts, yet felt somewhat insecure about my abilities compared to my relatives.
My true mentor was my high school commercial design teacher, Robert Takatch. He was a true inspiration, a good-hearted soul and an amazing watercolor painter. He looked like Santa, beard and all. Although he didn't chuckle, his eyes sparkled with kindness and encouragement. His spirit lives in me still. I continue to be inspired by artist friends and nature. My second "mentor" is nature, the gift of patience, of grace, of colors, and the intertwining of colors and shapes. Nature has been a source of strength for me. It is always present.....
In college, I completed dual majors in fine art and psychology and later completed my Master's Degree in Counseling and Art Therapy (combining my two passions). I currently have a counseling private practice in Mendon, MA.
I believe that everyone has the ability to be creative, to play, to explore and be inquisitive.....I believe that the creative arts help us to be more in touch with our inner spirit, be more authentic and more at peace with ourself.
I extend these beliefs to my workshops.
